At this time of the year the scent of blossoms dancing on the warm spring breeze hint at the sunny summer days that should arrive over the coming months. To guarantee some sun, it’s time to book your Mediterranean summer getaway and the Spanish Balearic Islands have plenty of sun, sand, and sea to entice you. The three main islands of Mallorca (Majorca), Menorca, and Ibiza offer something for everyone – from all-night fun for the party crowd to romantic spas and candle-lit beach dinners for couples, or leisurely pool-side rest & relaxation for families…plus everything in between.

The largest island, Mallorca (Majorca), is known for its numerous golden-sand beaches all around its stunning coastline and the scenic Serra de Tramuntana mountains for dramatic views over picture-perfect vineyards, idyllic coastal villages, and the azure waters of the Mediterranean beyond. Take a wander in the old town of the capital, Palma, where you can spend the day shopping at local and international boutiques before sampling outstanding dining options, from modern fusion dishes by exciting new chefs to old-school Spanish classics, and of course, delicious tapas throughout the city.

The slightly smaller and equally impressive Menorca offers a similar landscape with beautiful golden-sand beaches, cute coves, and quaint fishing villages to explore along its coastline or head up to the top of Mount Toro for stunning views over the island and the surrounding glistening Mediterranean sea. It is less developed than its bigger neighbour and the quieter beaches offer the chance to find your own secluded slice of paradise away from the summer crowds.

Ibiza, once a sleepy island that attracted intrepid travellers to its quiet beaches and laid back lifestyle, has transformed over the last few decades into an international party playground that has become the destination for all-day beach parties and dusk-til-dawn nightlife, with DJs and partygoers jetting in from around Europe and worldwide. However, away from the dance clubs and party resorts, you’ll find pretty villages to explore with stunning villas and world-class cuisine, or head along the coast for amazing beaches and quiet coves to discover, for those looking for a more relaxed vibe. So whether you’re looking for fast-paced fun or snail-paced serenity – you’ll find plenty of options to keep you entertained on the alluring White Island.
